About Me

My name is Kirsty, and I'm a wedding photographer.

For me, weddings are not just about two people in love, but about family, friendship and a celebration of life. I adore capturing the range emotions that unfold at weddings, and all the little interactions, details and moments.

My goal for your wedding is to capture you and your favourite people having a blast. It’s also my goal to create beautiful photos that capture the excitement, nerves, laughs and tears in such a way that your photographs of the day will be your most treasured possession, and a lasting reminder of life's great adventures.

I might not be the chick-flick type, but I'm a romantic at heart and nothing makes me happier than photographing love stories. I've covered over 250 weddings throughout Scotland, from simple weddings to the extravagant, from 4 guests to 400, from traditional to contemporary and everything in between. I love that I can bring this experience to each wedding, giving you one less thing to worry about and keeping your day running smoothly.

My photography background

While studying web design at university, photography was my hobby - something I did to get away from my computer screen. Since my photography was a hobby, I didn't feel the pressure to be an immediate success, and experimented with different techniques, equipment and editing processes over the years. By the time I left university, I no longer wanted to be a web designer!

I covered my first wedding in 2008 and although I was intensely nervous, I was also completely hooked. Over the next few years I worked closely with my photographer friends to gain assisting and photographic experience while undertaking my own solo weddings too.

I opened my first photography studio and became a full-time photographer in 2010 and soon gained experience in commercial, fashion, food, product and event photography. Fast forward to today and I rarely have the opportunity to shoot in-studio as covering weddings keeps me very busy. It's hectic but I love it!

Over the years I've been lucky enough to gain recognition from my industry peers in the form of a handful of Gold awards from the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers, I've had my work published in national and international fashion magazines and have given guest lectures on photography and business. Every day is a school day though, and in such a fast-paced field there's always something new to learn.

My plans for the future are pretty straightforward - to keep photographing amazing beautiful weddings and take over the world!
